The Jiwaka Show

The Jiwaka people consist of three distinct groups of people. They are the people of Jimi, the Wahgi and Kambia people. All three groups have completely different lifestyles and traditions. The Jimi people are small in size and live in the Jimi valley bordering Madang and Western Highlands Province. The people of Kambia are on the West of Mt. Hagen sharing the boarding of Southern Highlands while the Wahgi people live in the Wahgi Valley, closely related to the people of Chimbu. Their traditions and cultures are similar to the people of Chimbu, as they live not far from each other.

The Jiwaka people speak three different languages. These different language groups will gather together to display their traditional sing sing at the show. The Jiwaka show attracts a good number of neighboring tribes and as well invite neighboring tribes to take part in the show. This makes the Jiwaka show very unique and an exciting experience.

It is easily accessible by road from Mt. Hagen only 30 minutes drive away
